If the antenna from Walmart was intended for DIGITAL TV, and it is hooked up properly, and it doesn't receive anything, then you may be in a weak-signal area.In some cases, if you have land that ISN'T in the weak signal area (like if you live on the side of a ridge and the top is only a few hundred feet away), you can sometimes put the antenna in a better place to receive signals, and run a long cable back to the TV. That requires some knowledge about TV antennas and cabling, setting up a mast, and you'll need to install a lightning-arrestor to shunt any hits to ground rather than letting them into the house where they'll fry the TV.
