Japanese sizes are not the same as US sizes. They also vary greatly from one store to the next. You may end up wearing a 5L or larger, depending on the store. Most XLs I have seen in Japan are around a ladies 8-10 in the US. Not really XL. Inversely, Japanese girls who wear a M in Japan often wear an XS in the US. So, don't have tag shock when you see the size. Just give it a try and see if it fits.
