Depending on the extent of the damage it may be able to be repaired by a professional, the cost is extreme to have this done, they do use a type of an epoxy that is designed for SileStone. The cost is often close to the same cost as replacing the section of the top that is damaged. This is not a warranty issue as it is something that was done to it, and not a defect to the product itself. I would recommend replacement of the damaged section, as it sounds like this is a new home (or remodel), and you should get what you are paying for, something new. So it would be best to talk to your contractor. Like you said they do warranty the countertop for 10 years and a certified installer is supposed to install the countertop, in the end the builder would be liable, and Silestone most likely will replace the countertop.
